Divorce begins with the filing of a petition for dissolution of marriage. Upon the other spouse being served, signing a waiver, or both spouses filing the petition, an automatic injunction goes into effect.

		Removing children from the state without permission of the other spouse or the court;
		Disturbing or harassing the other spouse;
		Hiding, destroying, transferring or disposing of property, unless it is in the ordinary course of business;
		Cancelling or modifying any insurance without your spouse's written consent or the Colorado divorce court's permission.

Both parties must submit financial disclosures and exchange information regarding assets and debts.  A case is resolved if the parties can reach a settlement and the court approves the agreement.  Otherwise, the case goes to trial before a judge and the judge will then rule and grant the dissolution of marriage.
